The minecraft seed shazoom is a desert island scenario.  You spawn on a small island with one tree, some squid swimming nearby, and a passage leading under the island.  Unfortunately the passage does not lead anywhere.  There is, however, a huge cave system beneath the island if you dig down far enough.  Plenty of ores, and certainly enough obsidian to get you to the nether.   Its either that of build a boat a adventure in the ocean, but its a good distance before you will hit any land.
