This 1.2.5 minecraft seed is called monsterhunter. It spawns you in a plains biome with a bunch of animals (about 10 pigs and 10 cows) and a village at X: -160 Z: 366. In the forest biome right by the village are 4 or so ravines, all separate and all very close to one another. My favorite is at X: -252 Z: 394. This ravine has a abandoned mineshaft peaking out at the bottom.
If you are feeling adventurous a long way from the spawn point is a fortress with a portal to the end. It can be found at X: -824 Y: 29 Z: 5
